Alpine Ski Racing - K1 K2 J                                                                                   Meet the coaches

Developed and operated under the guidelines of Alpine Canada and the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation these programs are designed to allow serious competitive young racers and recreational skiers alike to become the best skier that they can be. For children 11 years or older Hemlock Ski Club offers the K program, J program and an entry level FIS program.
The objective of this program is to give young skiers an opportunity to develop their athletic potential and racing skills and to progress towards inter club competition within the zone and then onward to divisional and international levels of competition.
Certified coaching emphasizes physical preparation and technical skills for general free skiing, slalom, giant slalom, super G and SG racing.
In this program, each athlete becomes part of a national points system to measure their performance.
Training begins in the fall with dry land training prior to the season.
The program is divided into age categories:
K1 (11-12)
K2 (13-14)
J - (15-18)
There is also a K-Star program for skiers registered in the Nancy Greene program who may be thinking of continuing into K1.
