2019/2020 Season Programs & Registration

The HSC Nancy Greene Program

forms the foundation for lifelong enjoyment of the great sport of alpine skiing.  This program is focused on fun and fundamentals of skiing development. Consistent with Nancy Greene’s philosophy the emphasis is given on a fair play and group competition. As kids progress, the focus is given on a technical skiing and introduction to racing.

2019 Christmas Camp

This 3 day program offers kids the opportunity to get a feel for skiing with Hemlock Ski Club in groups of similar age and ability. The program is designed to try different terrain in fun and encouraging environment and focus on skiing fundamentals. Kids join the other returning club members for three days and if they like the program, they can continue in the regular Nancy Greene program for an additional fee.

 U12 Racing Program

continues to promote a love of skiing and ski racing through the all-terrain skiing in fun environment while introducing ski racing technique and tactics. Training includes all-mountain skiing, drills, and gate training. At this level, the skier will discover and develop individual skiing and racing styles while continuing to refine their technical skills. The competitions of the U12 group consist of at home events and at ski resorts in southern BC. The fundamentals of Giant Slalom and Slalom are the focus throughout the season and are part of the fun for the U12’s racing program.

U14 Program

is focused on mastering fundamental skiing skills, while introducing athletes to more specific ski racing techniques.  This program is for kids that love to ski and race. The program is provided in a dynamic team environment and is designed to inspire, challenge and motivate young athletes to get the most out of their training. A stronger commitment to the sport by the athlete is part of the U14’s growth.  Athletes learn age appropriate slalom, giant slalom and speed technical skills to enhance their racing and skiing skill.

U16 Program

is designed to inspire and challenge racers who love to compete to perform at the next level. This program continues to emphasize fundamental slalom and giant slalom techniques, utilizing creative drills in and out of the gates, while at the same time introducing racers to speed event (super giant slalom) training and racing. The athletes are encouraged to attend many races to test their skills against other Zone racers and at the Provincial level.

U19 Program:

Our U19 program is an extension of our U16 program, for skiers aged 16 to 18, who wish to continue training with HSC without the commitment and cost associated with international FIS level.

FIS Program:

The FIS Program is specially tailored for the racers who are interested to compete on a FIS circuit. The base training schedule is the same as U14, U16 programs, additional training days are at an added cost.
